Đánh giá biến động vật chất lơ lửng vịnh Nha Trang từ dữ liệu viễn thám
Chung Trần Văn
This
study evaluates the dynamics of Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM)
concentrations in Nha Trang Bay waters from 2018 to 2025. Daily SPM data at a
2-km spatial resolution were retrieved from VIIRS and Sentinel-3 OLCI sensors,
with data gaps reconstructed using the DINEOF algorithm to ensure time-series
continuity. To meticulously assess SPM dispersion and propagation pathways
within the bay, fine-scale analyses were validated using 20-m resolution
Sentinel-2 imagery extracted via the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud platform.
The analysis reveals that SPM distribution and variations since 2018 exhibit
distinct seasonal patterns, characterized by significantly higher
concentrations during the rainy season compared to the dry season, with
estuarine zones showing elevated levels relative to other areas. Furthermore,
the 8-year dataset provides a comprehensive overview of suspended matter
transport driven by extreme weather events and climate change. This impact
culminated in November 2025, where highly complex SPM fluctuations and elevated
average values evidenced the aftermath of a historic flood that discharged
massive amounts of land-based sediments into the sea.
