About CiteDrive

Although it may sound like a cliché, we want to avoid the typical “CiteDrive is by scientists for scientists” introduction. However, the CiteDrive project originated from a specific need for a reference management tool that could effectively handle a large BibTeX file while facilitating collaborative work and providing collision control for organizing projects. Integration with Overleaf was a desired feature, allowing for seamless synchronization of the BibTeX file with changes made in CiteDrive. With the support and contributions of users who shared similar workflows, the project evolved from a simple prototype into a fully functional app, actively shaped by valuable feedback. Presently, CiteDrive extends its support beyond LaTeX projects to include Markdown/Pandoc-based formats like Jupyter Notebooks, R Markdown, and Quarto in RStudio (Posit).

To create an account with us, all you need is an email address and a password. Currently, this is the only information we require during the registration process. We prioritize stringent data protection measures and never sell your personal data to third parties. Rest assured that your personal information is handled securely and with utmost care.

Is CiteDrive for me?

CiteDrive was designed with a specific focus on LaTeX and Markdown users who extensively utilize these programs. Our aim was to create a seamless and efficient workflow with tailored features that cater specifically to this type of writing, ensuring usability without hindrance. If you primarily work within this environment, especially if you are already an Overleaf user (we have developed an extension for it), CiteDrive offers unparalleled benefits in this domain.

However, if your primary tools include Microsoft Word or Google Docs, we recommend opting for more generalized software such as Zotero, which provides comprehensive support for these platforms.
