The Theory of Long-Distance Flight: Minimum Consumption of Fuel in an Airplane for a Given Number of Miles Is the Primary Factor and Not the Weight of the Engine

Robert J. Nebesar

Abstract

This paper treats of speed at minimum drag, the reciprocal relations of the aerodynamic values, the influence of the decreasing weight of fuel during the flight, the variation of long-distance-flight conditions with altitude, and the influence of the decreasing load of fuel on the altitude of flight.
