The Role of Radio Amateurs in Space Exploration and the Destiny of the Crimean Centers of Deep Space Communication

The article notes the unique idea of domestic scientists to connect a large detachment of radio amateurs to space exploration after the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite in our country. Radio amateurs of the Crimea with high responsibility approached the fulfillment of the tasks set by scientists. With the beginning of the era of space exploration, ground-based measuring points were organized in different places on the territory of the USSR. The article briefly outlines the history of two such points located in the Crimea, as well as plans for their modernization.
