Providing Virtual Intervention: Helpful Tips and Suggestions for Navigating the Virtual Learning Environment
Megan H. Mowbray, Elizabeth A. StevensThe emergence of COVID-19 required teachers to rapidly change course from providing instruction face-to-face in the physical classroom to facilitating instruction virtually. Although most school districts have returned to in-person learning, virtual learning remains both an alternative to traditional learning and a way to provide extra support for students with or at risk for learning disabilities (LD). This paper addresses ways to overcome some of the challenges unique to providing effective virtual intervention, including student organization, engagement, and delivery of instruction. We present steps for before, during, and after virtual intervention to facilitate a more effective virtual learning environment.
