Measurements of the normal component viscosity in helium II at various frequencies

Z. Sh. Nadirashvili, Dzh. S. Tsakadze

It is shown that with a string vibrating at high frequency in helium II the effective viscosity decreases relative to the true viscosity because of a decrease in the ratio of the penetration depth of the viscous wave in the normal component of the liquid to the quasiparticle mean free path.
