Consideration of the stage of initiating a criminal case and highlighting the problem of improper legal regulation of the rights of persons participating in this stage

This study analyzes the essential characteristics of the stage of initiation of a criminal case and identifies the problem of “persons participating in the stage of initiation of a criminal case”, the conclusions of which are based on the indicators of an analytical survey of law enforcement officers concerning the need to allocate this stage as an independent one, as well as the legal regulation of the rights of persons at the stage of initiation of a criminal case and the definition of their procedural status.
