Co-dependency of TiO2 underlayer and ZrO2 top layer in sandwiched microwave-assisted Zr-Fe2O3 photoanodes for photoelectrochemical water splitting

We report the synergistic effect of ZrO2 top and TiO2 under layers on the microwave-assisted Zr-Fe2O3 photoanodes. The optimum TZF2ZQ exhibited 144.5 and 71.3 μmol of H2 and O2 evolution at 1.23 V vs. RHE.
