Gonadal arteries usually arise from the abdominal aorta; however they may arise from other arteries of posterior abdominal wall. Awareness about variations in the origin and course of gonadal arteries is of paramount importance to vascular surgeons and urologists for appropriate clinical management of posterior abdominal wall pathologies. Present study reports a unique combination of anomalous origin and course of renal and gonadal vessels observed in a 60-year-old male cadaver during routine dissection teaching program of undergraduate medical students. Right testicular artery unusually originated form the right renal artery where as the left testicular followed an atypical course after taking origin from abdominal aorta by arching over the left renal vein. Such arching testicular artery may not only result in iatrogenic injuries during surgeries but may also induce left renal vein hypertension and varicocele. Present study makes an attempt to comprehend clinical and embryological aspects of observed variations.
