Accessing bimetallic complexes through a variable bridging ligand strategy

A Variable Bridging Ligand strategy to prepare heterometallic species has been used to synthesize a new ligand and its copper complexes, thus producing a pro-metalloligand, two metalloligands, and two mixed valence Cu^II/Cu^I compounds.
